Lebanese Belly Dancing

Lebanese Belly Dancing is Extinct

Lebanese Belly Dancing, like belly dancing in Egypt and other Arabic countries have had productions of song, dance and acting. There have been Lebanese Belly Dancing shows and it is often referred to as the Oriental Dance.

This dance can be held in the same category for the Lebanese as ballet and opera to the Americans and Europeans. The music is so soulful and passionate that it can bring tears to your eyes. Much of the music is based on famous artists, especially hailing from Egypt.

Looking at Tthe Future

With the political situation in Lebanon, the future of Lebanese Belly Dancing is uncertain. Even though the dancers earlier brought in a lot of revenue into the country, the art of belly dancing was not favored by the Islamic religion. The young people of Lebanon believe that Belly Dancing is old fashioned and hence it is not used as a form of entertainment in other Arabic countries too.

Form

Lebanese Belly Dancing, like any other form of Belly dancing consists of swaying the hips breaking into dynamic expressions. The patterns used in the dance are curves, thrusts, lifts, locks, drops and shaking body movements. The belly area is the point of concentration and the footsteps are not important. The arms and hands move in a serpent-like manner.

Costumes

Lebanese Belly Dancing celebrates women, their life and creativity, their beauty and especially the beauty of their body. The costume of the dancer changes from place to place, but the skirt, bra and the hip-belt are the main parts of the costume. The dancer often plays finger cymbals and sometimes there is a music accompaniment.

Women Power

All the designs of Lebanese Belly Dancing emphasize and enhance the grace, power and independent control of the feminine form. It can be a fertility dance as well. Sometimes men participate in the dance too, but it is mainly done by women. The dance originally comes from the folklore tradition of the Middle East and still portrays the culture of the Middle Eastern countries.

The Egyptian and the Turkish Belly Dance is by far more popular in Europe and America, and the style has been modernized to suit new trends. But the culture is still borrowed from tradition and in many small villages and small towns of Lebanon, it is danced when there is a celebration.

Belly dance is gaining popularity worldwide, but the future of dance is extremely uncertain in Middle Eastern Countries. But there is still hope that Oriental Dance will flourish once again in its hometown like Lebanon.

by Eric Slarkowski

The most expensive part of refacing a kitchen is the labor that it takes to do it. You can save half on the cost when you decide to do it all yourself. Remember it is not going to be easy but it is something that anyone can learn to do.

Take a Chance on Yourself or Hire a Professional?

Remember one thing refacing a kitchen is a hard job and a huge project. You will need to have the right help and a good set of skills to do this type of work. This is not a job that you should rush into. You need to take your time and make it perfect so that you can be proud of the finished product.

Getting the right measurements when you are trying to give your home a new look is important. You need to make sure that you are accurate and exact when you are refacing your kitchen cabinets. You need to take into consideration the face fame, the openings of the doors, and the actual cabinet. When you are off just a tiny bit you will see that the material will not fit right.

You have to take time to prepare the areas that you are refacing. You should remove all the cabinet drawers and the fronts of them. Clean everything well and get the grime off of the cabinets. You should also then make the smooth areas a little bit rough so that they can take in the materials of refacing. This is something that will take time and you should do it right.

If you do not know how to reface cabinets you should make sure that you are getting the proper help. You will also need to have patience and time to make it all happen. If you do not give yourself enough time to do this job you will see that you end up rushing and it will no be perfect.

What is needed for Cabinet Refacing?

The supplies that you need for cabinet refacing are offered at many of the home improvement stores. You will find that there are pictures and step-by-step directions to make this happen correctly. You will want to make your kitchen look as professionally done as possible.

Having pressure sensitive veneer will make the refacing so much easier. This is going to be a material that will be easy to use and will have a paper back that peels right off. You can line up the veneer to the right surface and put it in place. This area is going to need to be prepared correctly. Having a solid wood veneer is going to be the best way and the easiest for the refacing job that you are doing. Using a veneer roller can be a much easier way to apply the material. These items will come in a small and a large size. You will find that the larger ones will cover more than one area. You should always start at the middle and the move outwards. This will take out the air bubbles that can totally ruin the way that your refaced cabinets look.

Using a smoothing blade can be used when you are trying to attach the veneer. You should start in the middle and then go with the grain. Be sure to use both hands to give the right amount of pressure and do this until it is attached tightly.

Using edge band iron and trimmers can be good or refinishing. The band iron is going to be needed to hook the band to the edge of the cabinet door. An iron can also do this job for you as well but you will find it to be a large item to use.

Adwords Tactics: Restructure Your Ads Groups Today!

by Kirt Christensen

Adwords is a phenomenal way to get laser-targeted traffic to your site quickly, but it does have a steep learning curve…

…What a ton of pressure when it’s your business funds that are being spent!

So, here’s some important advice from a decade-long veteran of pay per click marketing, and an easy way to boost your profits from your Adwords investment:

A crucial element of Adwords account is how well you have your Adgroups organized.

Don’t fall into the vicious mistake of only creating a few of adgroups per campaign and then stuffing them withthousands of keyword phrases and hoping for the best.

Don’t do this, it’s begging for trouble!

Trouble in that this is like giving Google permission to “gouge” you, and you’ll end up paying way more per click, suffer from lower CTR’s due to poor relevance of your ads, and most likely be nailed with poor quality scores.

Always remember this, “relevance” is king!

Since it’s virtually impossible to write ads that are targeted, specific and “relevant” for hundreds or thousands of different keywords all in the same adgroup, you need to “break out” keywords into their very own adgroups.

For keywords with a lot of clicks, this might mean one keyword (with it’s three different match-types) per adgroup, and that’s all!

Even for lower traffic keywords, have no more than 15 to 21 keywords per adgroup.

After you “break out” the keywords into their own new adgroups, notice how much easier it is to write focused ads, using the keywords as much as possible in the ads.

Your ROI on your Adwords investment will instantly increase, overnight, along with lowering your per click costs and increasing your CTR!

Golden Retriever History

by Carol Matthews

The Golden Retriever, a truly intelligent dog among all other breeds, is popular for its all-embracing services in the domains of field trials, obedience, hunting and providing true guidance and services to blind people. In the beginning of the 1800’s, people from old England and Scotland considered hunting as their game of interest at one hand, and a mode for collecting food on the other. The talent of the Golden Retriever was first noticed in the domain of hunting, since these dogs are of medium size and have the flexibility to scroll through fowling lands, including upland gaming zone and waterfowl.

In the history of the Golden Retriever, Lord Tweedmouth at Guisachan Estate, Scotland listed the first official record of breeding. However, it became known to the public only during 1952 when the great nephew of Lord Tweedmouth published few historical documentation concerning the estate and Lord Tweedmouth. In mid 19th century, the golden puppy, named Nous put his footsteps for the first time in the estate with his master, Lord Tweedmouth. In the estate, Lord Tweedmouth bred golden puppies with the most desired characteristics and mannerisms.

During the early days, Tweed Water Spaniels were predominantly used as hunting dogs, since they were marked for their true intelligence, courage and vitality, the factors most essential for hunting. Tweed Water Spaniel dogs were of great importance for the development of the ancestors of the modern Golden Retriever. Lord Tweedmouth encouraged breeding between his yellow puppy Nous and Belle, a female Tweed Water Spaniel and this couple gave birth to fours golden puppies. However in later days, Irish setter and Bloodhound in addition to Tweed Water Spaniel were used for the breeding of modern the Golden Retriever.

At the end of 19th century in England, the popularity of the Golden Retriever increased significantly. In the year 1908, the first exhibition of Golden Retrieve was held in the Crystal Palace show, England. A separate status had been established with the formation of the Golden Retriever Club in the year 1913 in England. In 1920, these dogs put their footsteps in North America for the first time in the line of dog-breeding history.

In the year 1925, American Kennel Club (AKC) gave the breed recognition to the Golden Retriever. The time between the 1930’s and 1940’s is identified as the most flourishing years of the popularity of the Golden Retriever. This dog is so obedient that it won the Obedience Champ Title from the AKC in 1977, where it competed with other breeds as well.

While in the early years of breeding, the efficiency of this truly intelligent dog was only limited to its hunting ability, but later on the Golden Retriever was recognized for its versatile characteristics.

One interesting fact is that the dark shade used to be the predominant public preference that went over the light shade coat in earlier times, which is quite uncommon in today’s scenario.

Throughout the years, the popularity of this breed has increased and the Golden Retriever has been known as one of the most adorable and intelligent dogs among all other breeds around the world.

Introduction To Pedal Steel Country Guitar

Posted on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 9:23 pm

by E Walker

The pedal steel guitar tunings currently in common use hinder the acceptance of the instrument in musical forms other than American “Country” music. An alternate tuning based on the natural C scale is proposed and explained.

Introduction

The pedal steel guitar is a truly amazing musical instrument. It is one of the few instruments that can easily produce any note in the micro-tonal spectrum. Many musical instruments are limited to the notes of the twelve tone musical scale of the piano keyboard. Some instruments can produce notes that fall in between those tones as special effects (”bending” a note), but few can produce those “in-between” notes as easily and predictably as a fretless stringed instrument.

Like the violin, the pedal steel places the precise pitch of each note in the hand of the performer. But even the violin cannot produce full micro-tuned chords - it is limited to two-note harmony (the “double stop”) by the curvature of its bridge. The pedal steel has no such limitation. The full potential of the pedal steel includes chordal music subtleties that cannot be performed on any other single instrument.

Why, then, is this remarkable instrument largely ignored by the international music community? The answer lies in the musical tastes of the Americans who invented the pedal steel and pushed the mechanical technology to its current advanced state, and in the large American subculture that appropriated certain pedal steel effects for its own music, called “country” or “country and western”.

By and large, the best pedal steel guitarists in the world are the professional players of country music. This de facto association is one factor that works to the detriment of general acceptance of the instrument, but it is not the only factor. The tuning of the instrument makes it very easy to play American country music at the expense of most other musical forms.

The Technical Limitation

The standard E9th or “Nashville” tuning used on most pedal steels today is specifically designed for the country and western genre. This tuning spans an octave in the space of 5 strings. Pedals and knee levers are engaged to produce the remaining notes of a standard diatonic scale. Scale-based runs that include glisses or “bends” to get from one note of the scale to the next are a characteristic effect used in country music. Specifically, the whole tone bend is an effect that is used to excess. It is a recognizable ingredient of the “country sound”, even to a casual listener.

Avoiding the whole tone bend effect is a major performance challenge for anyone playing the Nashville tuning. Even for the intermediate level player, fast scale-based melody work remains difficult. Some written passages seem to be beyond the capabilities of the instrument, especially if note bends are not to be permitted. In theory, the pedal steel guitarist should be able to play the right hand part of any piano piece. In practice, the Nashville tuning compromises that ideal.

An Historic Parallel

The pedal steel is a direct ancestor of the Hawaiian electric steel guitar. During its most popular period (the 1930’s through the 1950’s) the Hawaiian guitar progressed from primitive major chord tunings to tunings based on jazz or swing chords. The sound of those advanced chordal tunings became part of the stereotyping of the instrument in Hawaiian and “western” (as in “country and western”) music.

In the 1960’s Jerry Byrd, an acknowledged master of the instrument, was approached with a project of difficult Japanese pop music. To accomplish the required degree of melodic expression, Byrd chose to use a scale-based, rather than chord-based, tuning. He called this 7-string tuning a “C Diatonic”.

The Japanese album, later released in the USA by the Steel Guitar Record Club, was called Steel Guitar Romantic World. The music profoundly broke the Hawaiian steel guitar stereotype. It did not hint at any Hawaiian or “western” music flavor, because it did not use the characteristic major 6th and dominant 9th chords of those styles.

Within Jerry Byrd’s C Diatonic tuning, the next melody or harmony note is usually within easy reach from the fret of the current note. This means that the placement of glisses in the melody can be determined by the arranger or performer, rather than by limitations imposed by the tuning of the instument. In skilled hands, the resultant effect can be a striking departure from the “old timey” flavor most listeners expect from the Hawaiian electric steel guitar.

Cellulite : Best Ways For Cellulite Removal

Posted on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 9:20 pm

by Ray Lam

The usually unsightly condition known as cellulite is suffered by woman around the world and is universally hated; whilst some areas are more susceptible than others, most sufferers find they are affected in areas below the waist. Do not be fooled into thinking that this is a condition purely confined to women who are overweight because most carry additional fat anyway; the cottage cheese appearance so familiar with this condition can affect slim women as well.

There are various procedures used to remove of cellulite. Liposuction is a surgical procedure intended to remove fat deposits and shape the body. Fat is removed from under the skin with the use of a vacuum-suction canula (a hollow pen-like instrument) or using an ultrasonic probe that emulsifies (breaks up into small pieces) the fat and then removes it with suction. People with localized fat may decide to have liposuction to remove fat from just one specific area.

The Liposuction technique although efficient is not recommended for weight loss as it is mainly used to shape the body by removing excess fat or cellulite from specific areas on the body. Liposuction can be performed on the abdomen, hips, thighs, calves, arms, back, neck, face or buttocks.

Mesotherapy is the newest treatment for cellulite, and it actually works. Mesotherapy has long been an art in Europe and South America. Unlike liposuction that involves the removal of unwanted fat cells, mesotherapy involves small injections that result in the breakdown of fat cells. These injections include natural-occurring substances such as phosphatidylcholine that is present in all living tissues. When injected in fat and cellulite, the fat cells become inflamed and disrupted and their contents are carried away.

Another new cellulite removal technique is called Vela smooth. This medical cellulite solution uses bi-polar radio frequency and infrared light to mobilize tissue and safely and effectively re-contours the skin surface. It’s painless, easy and there’s no post-treatment downtime. Treatments are usually performed twice weekly. It usually takes about 30-60 minutes to perform cellulite removal. Time requirements for endermologie and mesotherapy canvary depend on the number of areas treated and the size of each area.

Have You Seen the Belly Dancing Clothes

Accessorizing with Belly Dancing Clothing

Belly dance clothing is just an important as the beautiful languid moves of the dancer. Without her elaborate costume the dancer’s moves, no matter how beautiful, loose some of their impact. Wearing the right belly dancing clothing can make you feel more confident and a lot sexier too.

There is no doubt that clothing used in this dance form is meant to flatter and highlight a woman’s body. The whole dance itself is a celebration of a woman’s curves. The clothes are the icing on the cake if you will. Why not complement your hip shaking and undulations with the right belly dancing clothing?

Material

The material of most belly dancing clothing is lightweight and transparent. The nature of the fabric adds to the effect of sensuality and titillation. The soft and flowing fabric will flutter and ripple with the slightest shake of your hips or turn of your body. It adds a feeling of endless movement to your dance moves.

The lightweight fabric used in belly dancing clothing also makes movement easy. You wouldn’t want to be dancing in a stiff material that restricted your movements, would you? The silks and satins commonly used to make the tops and skirts add a touch of glamour and luxury to even the simplest costumes.

The colors chosen are usually jewel toned. The bright colors are an extension of the expressive nature of the dance. You can’t help feeling more free when you are wearing bright happy colors. Bright colors are also traditionally used in belly dancing. Silver or gold accents serve to heighten the feeling of exoticism.

Accessories

Common accessories added to belly dancing clothing are coins, chains, and shells. Coins are the more traditional accessory to belly dancing clothing. This is because belly dancers are traditionally presented with coins for their performances. Usually a fringe of coins is added to skirt hems and bra tops.

Veils are also another popular accessory that is coordinated with belly dancing outfits. Veils can be an alluring prop to hide the face or draped around the head to provide a flowing movement during turns and swirls. Scarves used around the arms are used to draw attention to the grace and elegance of the movements.

Whatever you choose in terms of belly dancing clothing you should first like the clothes. Secondly you should feel comfortable in them. Don’t feel like you have to bare a lot of flesh just to be authentic. You can leave most of your body covered and still be sexy.

Advantage of Building a Website for Home Business

Posted on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 8:59 pm

by Thomas Griffin

As business grows, it can be a good idea to support your eBay sales with a website. The first step is building a web presence outside of eBay by creating your own website. Building a website is not a difficult task. These days you don’t necessarily need the know-how to do it all yourself - there are plenty of people who will do it for you. Turnkey stores are an option, or you can have a designer create the basic design for a website and then purchase shopping cart software separately.

Either way, you need to think carefully about branding at this point. Branding is recognizable design features that are carried across your entire business from product to business cards, to your website and brochures. A brand helps your customers associate your products with an over-riding concept and identify them as part of their lifestyle. For example, some brands are associated with natural and organic concepts while others are associated with fine quality or a particular lifestyle. When establishing your online business, take care to make sure the branding you have already established on eBay remains consistent across your new website.

There are thousands of stores on the web, so to be successful, you’ll need to do something to make people visit your site and stay there for longer. One of the most effective ways of doing this is by providing people with information about your products. For example, if you sell small kitchen appliances, why not add articles to your site on how to use each appliance, tasty recipes to make with each, how to fix problems, and so on? Not only are you giving your users a reason to come back to your site, you are also increasing your chances of being placed in the top search results for keyword searches relating to the items you sell. Search engines give higher priority to good quality, unique information, so this is an effective way of keeping rankings high and getting traffic from organic search results.

Another way of getting more traffic to your site is by carrying out link exchanges. Just remember to limit yourself to related sites, otherwise you may find that you end up with a lower rather than higher search engine ranking! Linking to sites not related to the content on your site can actually give you a lower search engine ranking, so stay away from sites that offer hundreds of links for a fixed price. The best idea is to link to other sites that relate to what you are selling. For instance, keeping with the appliance example above, a site such as this could exchange links with sites selling china, cutlery, linen or recipes.

Finally, you can drive traffic to your site through advertising. Your ebay listings are one way of advertising if you add your site URL to your About Me page. Google Adwords is another very effective way of getting traffic to your site. A targeted campaign can do wonders for your website. Done well, a website should increase overall sales, increase traffic to your eBay listings, and increase your reputation as an expert in your area.

Pedal Steel Guitar with C Scale Tuning

Posted on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 8:59 pm

by E Walker

In this article, I will talk about using C Scale tuning for pedal steel country guitar playing. This tuning lends itself easily to most musical forms, including classical, new age, jazz, and adult comtemporary. In modern pop and dance music, it turns the pedal steel guitar into a versatile controller for the latest electronic effects.

Once the tuning is learned, fast scale runs with tight harmonies are nearly as easy on the pedal steel as they are on a piano keyboard. In progressive rock, the steel guitarist can work a level playing field with other band members without fear of accidently “countrifying” the band’s sound. The tuning is likewise at home in orchestral music, show tunes and film scores.

On the other hand, it’s nearly impossible to coax the Nashville pedal steel sound from this tuning. Country dobro and blues licks are available, of course, but the characteristic full step bend is missing. The western swing style is also compromised because it relies on full step pedal changes within strummed chords. Bluegrass, with its reliance on fast arpeggios and pentatonic runs, is another form that’s harder to play in the C Scale tuning than in the standard Nashville E9th.

A scale-based pedal steel tuning has firm historical roots and a solid foundation in music theory. The C Scale tuning in particular can be applied to either inexpensive or professional level instruments for musicians who have little interest in country music but want to play the pedal steel guitar. It permits a wide variety of musical expression and makes it easier to play fast diatonic music in any key.

Mastery of a scale-based tuning can expand a steel guitarist’s musical vocabulary. For professional country musicians, it’s a good choice for the rear neck of a double neck instrument. For those involved exclusively in other forms of music, the C Scale tuning effectively blocks the accidental use of undesirable country music cliches, especially the “full step bend”.
