How to Clean the Colon

Posted on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 4:17 am

by Emily Schwartz

There are three ways in which the colon can be cleansed. There are ways you can do it naturally using colon cleansing products or the other way is to undergo colonic irrigation. Below we look closely at the way to clean colon so you that you can then determine just which is the best one for you to use.

Yes there are numerous ways to cleanse your colon and although much discussion has been made with regard to what is the best, what everyone agrees on is that it does need to be done. What you may not realize is that a large number of the diseases we suffer from are ones which initially start in the colon. So cleaning is will ensure that the chances of you contracting such diseases are greatly reduced.

Cleansing your colon naturally is very simple and there are many things in nature which can help you with cleaning your colon. Not only herbs but there are many vegetables which have the right properties that help to cleanse your colon naturally. One of the most effective ways naturally to cleanse your colon is through drinking lots of purified water if you can. It helps to break down toxins in the body and this then helps your body to eliminate them from it more easily.

When it comes to cleansing your colon naturally there are several things you can do for yourself and that is to actually increase the amount of fresh fruit and vegetables you eat. Preferably increase the amount of green vegetables you eat in your diet as these contain properties which help to break down the buildup of toxins in your body.

As mentioned another way to cleanse the colon is using specialist products which can be purchased online or at your local drugstore. These do work but sometimes they can be too effective and may prove harsh on the body. However, for a quick way to cleanse the colon then using these is worth considering.

The third way which many people use in order to cleanse their colon is through having a colonic. This is an intrusive procedure as to clean the colon it needs to be flushed out with water so that any debris stuck in it can be removed. Although of all the ways to cleanse the colon this is the quickest and easiest of them.

If you do intend to undergo a colonic then you need to be careful and make sure that the person who is going to be carrying out the procedure has had the appropriate training. Plus the equipment they use is of the highest quality preferably the tubes and tips being inserted are disposable because if not they could lead to an infection.

Above we have shown you the best way to clean colon of toxins and waste buildup. However, if you suffer from any kinds of health conditions or required to take any kinds of medication it is important that you speak with your doctor first. If you don’t you may find that these ways to cleanse the colon can prove to be more detrimental to your health rather than helping to improve it.

How to get more Muscle Definition

Posted on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 4:54 am

by Caleb Lee

Muscle definition is something a lot of people aren’t quite clear on. Well yes, we all know when a muscle looks well defined, but what is it that makes for muscle definition and how do you achieve it?

Definition is what is often called “ripped”. You know how you can see the outline of the muscle perfectly against the skin? That is the goal of every bodybuilder and of course everyone wouldn’t mind having a bit more muscle definition themselves. Definition is what makes muscles appear larger. And in fact, you can have a bicep which is 12 inches around and it will actually look larger than a less defined bicep which is 15 inches!

What makes a person “ripped”? Definition consists of 2 things: body fat percentage and muscle size. To be defined you need to lose the body fat while building the muscle. This is what most people work out to achieve.

“Hey, that Caleb sure knows all about fitness. Maybe he can tell me what exercise I can do to build muscle definition.” I can hear you thinking that, but I must say humbly, I can’t do that! Why you ask? Because there is no such an exercise.

To get definition, or ripped if you will, you have to lose excess fat while building muscle. A lot of people get discouraged after working out for awhile when they don’t see the definition they have been trying to achieve. Variety is the spice of life and a exercise program that ignores other aspects of fitness is not the best thing for overall general health.

What I recommend is low impact, low intensity cardio exercise, such as biking and hiking. I don’t really recommend running, since this can be hard on your knees, a bad thing for anyone, especially weight lifters.

For building muscle mass, my advice is low reps with heavier weights. This will build the muscle fast. Use enough weight so that you can’t do more than your planned set of reps. This along with low impact cardio and a healthy diet will get you the look you want-ripped!

See you later; I’ll be at the gym.

Weight Loss Dietary Supplements - Choose Carefully

Posted on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 4:43 am

This article will address some of the more common weight loss dietary supplements. Will they have side effects to your well being while aiding your weight loss goals ? Will they even have any affect, be it help or a hindrance? People often look for some fantastic supplement that will solve all their weight loss problem. The reality is that an over the counter dietary supplements are not a cure all and need to be used in conjunction with other weight loss methods.

Weight loss dietary supplements include a list of ingredients that include vitamins, minerals, amino acids and herbs and plants. The purpose of these some of these ingredients is to top up an deficiencies that the person mat have. Others may work at speeding up the metabolism so that a person burns more calories. They are generally used in conjunction with a proper diet and exercise plan. However, should you decide to use one, check that it is ok with your physician prior to use.

You will find that most weight loss dietary supplements are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), so use them with caution. They do not conform to the same standards as regulated medication do. In some cases they can be banned or prohibited from sale if the FDA deems them to be not fit for human consumption.

Ephedra was a well known example of a popular weight loss dietary supplement that was discontinued. This was after stories surfaced that it led to seizures, increased blood pressure, lead to depression, and was linked to chronic headaches. The label on many supplements may not accurately reflect their ingredients, since the FDA does not regulate these pills.

Ephedra has been banned as a weight loss dietary supplement and in its place, some are promoting bitter orange. However, bitter orange has recently been shown to possibly produce similar effects on the body as ephedra, making it an ineffective and possibly dangerous weight loss dietary supplement. So far, bitter orange is still available for purchase, but it may not be available for too much longer.

Guar gum and chitosan have been shown to be two very popular but ineffective weight loss dietary supplements. Ingestion of these two dietary supplements for weight loss is not encouraged anymore. Their long term effects on the body are not known since neither of them has been studied or tested for that in particular. However, it has been shown that they do not contribute or help dieters to reduce appetite or lose weight.

St. John’s Wart and green tea are generally thought to be helpful in weight loss without having side effects (they may have caffeine in them so check this if you are going caffeine free). When used together with diet and exercise both of these have proven to be effective weight loss dietary supplements. Green Tea can come as pills and patches if you would like a change from the traditional tea form.

Is chiropractic treatment dangerous? With rare exceptions, the answer is “No.” While any form of health treatment contains a degree of inherent risk, there is little danger in chiropractic care administered by a licensed practitioner. To assure competency and make certain the discipline is conducted in a scientific and professional manner, all states require D.C.s, as well as M.D.s and D.O.s, to be board-qualified, licensed, and regulated according to stringent criteria.Yes. Dr. Brueggeman has completed post-graduate seminar training in care of women during their pregnancy. Is there a connection between strokes and chiropractic treatment? Research literature estimates the risk of having a stroke that may be related to chiropractic treatments to be one in several millions of treatments (from anywhere from 1 to 400,0000 to over 1 in several million). In fact, scientific literature suggests that you are about 5 times more likely to be hit by lightning or suffer a stroke in normal daily living, such as from head movements, medication or vascular disease, than you are in association with chiropractic care.We can give you a fairly reliable estimate after you have been examined.

Q - Is chiropractic treatment ongoing? A - The hands-on nature of the chiropractic treatment is essentially what requires patients to visit the chiropractor a number of times. To be treated by a chiropractor, a patient needs to be in his or her office. In contrast, a course of treatment from medical doctors often involves a pre-established plan that is conducted at home (i.e. taking a course of antibiotics once a day for a couple of weeks).Chiropractic treatment uses what is commonly called an “adjustment” to restore and maintain full and painfree range of motion in the spinal column.

Will my insurance cover chiropractic treatment ? Most insurance plans will cover chiropractic care. Our office staff will check on your benefits to see what type of coverage you have. Is chiropractic treatment safe during pregnancy? Yes. Dr. Brueggeman has completed post-graduate seminar training in care of women during their pregnancy. The adjustments used during pregnancy are gentle, and often preformed with the patient sitting or lying on their side. Chiropractic treatment during pregnancy can often help relieve low back pain, sciatica, joint related pelvic pain, and midback pain.Yes.

WHY SHOULD I GET CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT WHILE I’M PREGNANT? The uterus is supported by ligaments that attach to the pelvis. If the pelvic bones are misaligned, they can put tension on those ligaments. This can cause back pain, cramping, and a difficult labor. It is important to ensure that the pelvis is aligned properly to allow optimal movement during labor. Women who have undergone chiropractic adjustments during their pregnancy report that their labor is easier and less stressful on their bodies. One of the many misconceptions perpetuated by those who have never seen a chiropractor is that it must be painful ? after all, it means twisting the neck and spine! Nothing could be further from the truth. Chiropractic treatments are administered by skilled, trained doctors and are not painful. The only discomfort a patient might feel lasts only during the few seconds of the adjustment and is quite rare.

How to Lose Weight in Two Weeks

Posted on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 4:34 am

by Jas Oh

This is how to lose weight in two weeks - eat smarter and get active. These are the necessary ingredients for a healthy lifestyle. Below are 5 tips on how to lose weight-

1. Be prepared - Make your breakfast, lunch and snacks the night before and bring them with you to work. That way, you’ll never be tempted by junk food or other treats.

2. Get real - you didn’t gain weight over-night, so don’t expect to lose weight that quickly too. Few of us are cut out for physical perfection, so the battle to achieve it via high sacrifice diets and frantic exercise is not manageable. a much better way is to re-jig you lifestyle but by bit - cut back on calories while slowly increasing your activity levels. That way, the changes will stay long term because you’ll barely notice them.

3. Once you’ve decided to become more physically active, be sure to consult your local doctor before beginning any exercise routine. Always, wear comfortable exercise shoes and clothing, workout within your fitness levels and, if you feel pain or discomfort, speak to your doctor.

4. To get your leanest, firmest physique, you should incorporate strength training and intense workouts into your fitness program. The bonus here is, while upping the intensity, you will burn more extra calories and your body will continue to burn for a few hours after you finish. Best yet, this requires less time at the gym than the standard cardio session - that means more time with the family!

5. Time your carbs - you need a routine that locks in when you eat carbs. Timing is crucial to avoid stockpiling fat and promote fast, effective fat loss. Eat the majority of your carbs (rice, pasta, potatoes, bread) before 1 pm or directly before a workout, because you are more likely to burn these off.

At the end of the day, just be patient with your results - and take it easy. You don’t need to go on the scales daily to check your progress. Just make sure that you consistently eat healthy and exercise - and let the rest take care of itself. Overtime, you will lose the weight.

Facts About Basic Laser Hair Removal

Posted on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 3:49 am

by Martin Lopes

Laser hair removal is being seen as the latest in permanent hair removal. It is also touted as an substitute to constantly shaving and waxing areas of the body. It certainly has advantages but you should be aware of laser hair removal facts before jumping in.

Not everyone who offers laser hair removal services is qualified or skilled enough to do so. Some advertising claims make it out to be a miracle cure, but in reality it’s not. You need to treat any claims given by salons and beauty centers with caution and scepticism.

How the Process Works

Laser hair removal works very simply. Just above the skin is a handheld device that looks very much like the one used in ultrasounds. Light at a specific wavelength is delivered from the device and seeks any dark material.

This is usually the pigment in hairs. One of the laser hair removal facts is that gray, blond, and red hair cannot be targeted with a laser because of the nature of the treatment. Non existent or too light for the treatment are the pigments in these hairs. Your skin should also be light colored for this treatment to be successful.

Advantages

Laser hair removal facts prove that this method can be very satisfactory to consumers when it is performed by the right people. An unskilled and untrained person can give you disappointing results.

The advantage of using this method is that regrowth is often lighter and of a finer texture than the original hair. An advantage that other hair removal methods do not always provide. It can also be done fairly quickly and over relatively large areas of hair like the backs of legs.

Disadvantages

Laser hair removal information stresses the importance of finding someone qualified to perform the procedure. This is because when done improperly the side effects can be quite serious. There is a possibility of causing burns, lesions, and skin discoloration that looks patchy.

Another disadvantage is that some people find this procedure quite painful. Studies have not been carried out to determine the long term effects of the treatment, which makes laser hair removal facts not comprehensive enough. There is insufficient data to totally prove the tissue surrounding a hair follicle is affected, even though it’s not suppose too be.

Check how your state regulates this procedure, as many states see this procedure as cosmetic. Check that whatever facility you intend to go to, meets with all the laser hair removal facts you have. It should not make fasle claims about totally permanent hair removal.
